This article outlines the steps and information required to onboard your Toast POS - Campspot integration

Integration description

The features supported by the Toast - Campspot integration are listed below with a short description of each.

  1. Look up camp spots (customers) directly in Toast

The Toast - Campspot integration enables Toast users to look up and post charges to an active camp spot in their Campspot environment. Once set up, the integration displays a list of all the available camp spot names directly in Toast. Users can then select the camp spot that they want to post the Toast charges to.

2. Post Toast charges and gratuities to Campspot

The integration will post the total sum of Toast charges to the selected Campspot account. There is currently no price breakdown available per product or category.

If the integration needs to post gratuities/service charges from Toast, these will be posted separately from the remaining sum.

Payments are not included in the integration and all amounts charged through the connection are to be settled in Campspot. Each posting is linked to a Toast receipt for reconciliation purposes.

3. Posting refunds/corrections

Refunds or corrections can be made from Toast by posting the amount as a negative value.

New connection request

To request your new Toast – Campspot integration, please follow the steps below.

  1. Inform your Campspot representative that you would like to connect your Toast environment.

Please inform your Campspot representative that you would like to connect your Campspot and Toast environments. You can request your integration by completing the Campspot form linked here.

The Campspot team will have to provide Omniboost with specific information needed to configure your connection.

2. Complete Toast Commercial Settings

Before the Campspot connection can be enabled for your Toast environment, please speak to your Toast sales representative and make sure the following are added to your Toast account:

  1. Toast Restaurant Management Suite

  2. Hotel PMS subscription

3. Request the Toast – Campspot connection via your Toast marketplace

Go to your Toast marketplace, find and request the Toast - Campspot connection. The Omniboost team will receive a notification including:

  1. Your Restaurant Name

  2. Your Restaurant Location

  3. Your Toast GUID

This is needed to connect to your Toast environment.

The Omniboost team will use this information along with your Park ID provided by Campspot to set up your profile in the DataHub POS –PMS integration platform. This platform profile manages the settings for your new connection.

Omniboost will also notify the Toast team that they need to configure your room charge payment method as explained below.

Your Toast Room Charge Payment method

Before you can start your onboarding, your Room Charge Payment method in Toast must be set up. This is done by the Toast integrations team.

This step is important because it enables your team to connect to your Campspot environment and select the camp spot you want to post charges to during the payment process in Toast.

If you'd like to change the name of this payment type, follow the steps below.

Please log into your Toast environment and select the Toast location you are connecting to. From the main menu on the left-hand side, go to Payments.

From there, go to Payment methods -> Other payment options.

If this payment type is configured, you will be able to see it in the overall listing of Other Payment Options as shown below.

If you'd like to change how the button name is displayed in your Toast environment, you can do so by clicking on that payment option and modifying the Name field as shown below.

Making sure the new Other Payment Option is visible in the POS

Once the new payment is configured you will have to make sure that this payment type is marked as Show on POS: Yes

The default setup is as shown below which means that your team will not be able to use the new payment type until you update this setting.

Please note that the steps above will have to be done for each Toast location.

Setting up your Omniboost DataHub profile

The Omniboost team will set up your new integration profile in the DataHub integration platform.

This is where they will have to select the correct On Room Payment Type created and enabled in your Toast environment.

Once the connection is set up, Omniboost will notify your Campspot representative who will reach out to you for testing as defined.

Testing your new connection

To confirm your new integration is completely configured, you can test the following actions:

  1. Look up an active camp spot directly from Toast

  2. Post a room charge from Toast to Campspot

  3. Post a service charge from Toast to Campspot

  4. Post a refund (negative charge) from Toast to Campspot
